MARSO IS A PERSONAL WORKSHOP
It deals with the creation of mosaic artifacts
and their interpretation in space as a decorative element.
Despite the workshop the office offers decorative services and counseling in interior decoration as a whole.
Owner and founder of marso mosaics is Maria Sotiriou and as the name indicates MarSo is the combination of the name and the surname of the artist. The name was chosen because Maria wants in every aspect of her work her personal touch, as a reminder that we have to put a piece of ourselves in everything we do in order to give “character” in our creations.
Some Words About Maria
Maria studied Interior Architecture, Decorative Arts and Design at Tei of Athens and after her main degree in interior architecture she had her specialization in mosaics at Center of Mosaics “Psifidon Gnosis”.
Specialized in the art of mosaics and its techniques that influenced many civilizations through the years, Maria wanted to recreate and revitalize the art of mosaics. The importance of the use of mosaics in every important archeological space and the preservation up to today gives in the art of mosaics a great value and importance in signifying the world’s greatest monuments.
Modern, everyday products meet the luxury and the aura of the mosaic art. Dressed with combinations of marble, glass and smalti. A mirror, can become an artistic and decorative piece in every room and place that need utility and art at their maximum potential.

To Create Harmony
After studying Maria traveled the world and with the knowledge in mosaics, realized the impact of mosaics in many different cultures. How the colors and the materials are combined and create harmony, and of course how it impacts every space. The knowledge in interior design helped her realize how every space is unique and how its uniqueness can be promoted through the art of mosaic.
In 2019, when the workshop was founded, Maria, carrying experience and many images from around the world found what materials can give the required outcome for her in order to create artifacts of excellent quality and aesthetics in order to hand make and personalize any demand of any space, place and area, creating unique art that elevate the aesthetics and the design.
The Sheraton hotel logo in Rhodes and the reimagination of the Nea Smirni square proposal are only a glimpse of how impactful can be the use of mosaic art in an already established and crowded space. Through those two great opportunities Maria passed her artistic view and her decorative skills to very demanding people and they where both received with great compliments for the outcome.
